Draftsperson (Competition #08-007)
The Designer Draftsperson is responsible for creating and maintaining engineering documentation in support of our manufacturing operations. Provide innovative solutions to manufacturing, quality and customer issues.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the engineering manager the designer draftsperson will create, and maintain engineering documentation.
This includes drafting support for our product designers.
The creation and maintenance of publications packages including BOM’s, exploded views, and service procedures.
Product definition through engineering drawings and specifications
Assist with first article inspections (FAI) on in-house designs and customer supplied drawing and samples
Assist in determining customer requirements
Tooling design
Participate in value analysis/value engineering initiatives
Troubleshoot product issues on and off site and provide direction on the necessary corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Manufacturing CAD Certificate or Mechanical Technologist Diploma
3D CAD modeling experience with AutoCAD or Solid Edge
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Excel
Experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
Excellent communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (i.e. Word, Power Point, etc.)
Knowledge of metal fabrication or transportation window manufacturing would be an asset
Self motivated and strong desire to implement change
Knowledge of glazing materials for transportation applications is considered an asset
Experience working with industry standards such as DOT, SAE, ASTM, ANSI is considered an asset
